It has been said that a leader’s values are spelled out in his/her calendar.  As optometrists and business owners we have a great demand on our time.  Many of us are so busy that we do not take the time for solitary reflection to muse about our life and the direction that we are headed.   At our office our core values are QUALITY CARE & SERVICE, INTEGRITY, and EXCELLENCE.  When a member of the team needs to be nudged back on track we look at the core values and remind them of why we do what we do.  Many core values are lost in the pages of an employee manual.  As the leader your core values must come alive and you are the sole giver of life to the core values.
