Just like any mutual fund will have a prospectus of the assets and percentage of fund dollars that go to those assets, so should an optometry practice have a prospectus.  If you are serious about selling your practice then putting together a prospectus is a must.  Those areas to include would be…..

Pictures (office, staff, etc)

Statistics of the practice (EHR software queries are VERY helpful with this)

Asking price

Outlining the goodwill that you have created

Years in business

Demographics of the office

Social media involvement

Graph of practice growth

Save the specifics for a more detailed prospectus that you give to the individuals that have true interest.  This list is not exhaustive but remember that this is the age where packaging is as important as the product.  Visit with a realtor, they will tell you that curb appeal is a huge factor for selling a house.
