>For those who are followers of this blog you might assume from the title that this post is about “net income” and a secret to “leaping.”  It has nothing to do with money and everything to do with the fear inside of you to leap into a new practice, or for some to leap out of practice.  There are no formulas for the fear of “leaping” when you can’t see the net below.  Optometry requires more of our brains then the intellectual component of the left brain, as we optometrists deal with, the right brain, people and emotional investments.  When was the last time that managing your staff was not an emotional investment?  If optometry was only about the money then the “leaping” could be well analyzed and calculated so the risk is seen before the investment.  When making a practice transition, you can analyze and calculate all the numbers and have 4-5 consultants at the table but making the decision to buy or sell the practice involves more then theory, it involves people.  And if you are like me, then you have learned that many relationships are a “leap” without a “net” in sight.  Once you leap, the net will soon be revealed in reaching your dreams.
