As a previous president of the AOSA (2002), I find myself having an affinity for what is going on in the student world.  It seems like not so long ago I was dreaming of what being an optometrist would be like.  Now that I am living the dream I often wonder about those students who have the same dream I once did.  Due to my history with AOSA and the great organization they are I am happy to announce that this blog is now featured at iBlog (the blog of the AOSA) http://theaosa.wordpress.com/

The content of OptometryCEO meets the students where they are.  Students have two main concerns, besides graduating.  They are worried about the amount of debt they are accumulating and if there will be a job for them when they graduate.  A couple of months I blogged about credit score and how to obtain and track your credit score and credit history.  This originated from a presentation to 300 students at GWCO.  If students succeed in transitioning into a healthy practice environment then optometry succeeds.  I have had the privilege of working with many students and new ODs who are seeking answers for their practice transition questions.  I look forward to continuing to move forward in raising up more students to optometrists
to continue to build our profession.
